Most of everything we carry are for our personal comfort, or a piece of mind. As we grow more comfortable though experience we shed gear and learn how to pack more efficiently. Making gear in the field and utilizing our surrounding's to work for us opposed to carrying the weight. Sometimes less is more our Need's become Want's and we choose the bare necessities
Winter activities typically require more gear in your pack as well as the additional layers being worn, this in turn increases load weight and decreases your agility. Make sure you go in prepared and aware.
